Aliwan Fiesta 2010 Photography Competition

I know this post is a bit delayed because Aliwan Fiesta 2010 already ended but still the submission of entries in this photography contest is until May 14, 2010 so those who have taken greats shots during the event can still join the contest. In line with this year’s Aliwan Fiesta celebrations, Manila Broadcasting Company (MBC) again mounts a photography competition with the theme “Ang Galing ng Pinoy!” See mechanics below for more details.

Mechanics:

1. Open to both amateur and professional photographers.
2. Photos should be taken on April 24, 2010, during the grand parade/competition proper, and should not have won nor have been published in any manner of form;
3. Participants may use any digital or film-based camera.
4. Entries must be printed in full colour on any brand of photo paper in 8R size (8 inches x 10 inches).
5. Manually retouched and/or painted over print outputs, and any form of major manipulation of the main image are not allowed, although digital retouching on density, contrast adjustments, minor cropping, burning, and dodging may be tolerated.
6. Creative effects done within the camera at the time of exposure e.g. multiple exposures, flash fill, lighting, filtration, etc. are allowed.
7. Maximum of five (5) entries per photographer, taken of different  participating contingents/festivals:   three (3) during the streetdance competition, and two (2) from the float parade.
8. Each entry should be submitted in an envelope with an Aliwan Fiesta Photo Competition entry form in duplicate (one copy for the receiving staff, and one copy for the photographer-entrant).
9. The name of  the photographer should not appear on the face of the entry.
10. Entries should be submitted to Susan Arcega at the Manila Broadcasting Company office, Sotto Street, CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.  (for details, call 832-6125).

First Prize                   P50,000
Second Prize              P25,000
Third Prize                  P10,000

Deadline for submission of entries is on May 14, 2010 at 3 p.m.
